Vancouver "Islander" Lager

Islander Lager was brewed because Islanders deserve a good tasting local lager. In 2006 we looked at the selection at our local pubs and beer stores and said, “Why should craft ale’s be the only kind of beer that is produced locally? We felt that Islanders deserved a better lager and we decided to make it for them.
We believed that our neighbours deserved a lager that was made from quality ingredients, at a good price. And that they didn’t deserve to be overcharged with premiums for big advertising campaigns, and hype about trying to be anyone other than who they are: An Islander. Using the same craftsmanship and care that goes into our craft brews, our brew master created a beer that was easy to drink and tastes the way a good lager should.
Islander Lager is brewed for Locals who live for the island lifestyle and embraces the mantra of work hard so you can play hard. After all, we have a great lifestyle here, how could you not enjoy it? Islander Lager is also the only local lager brewed on island time, the island way. Made with the only four ingredients you need to make a lager: Barley, hops, yeast and water, Islander will never use additives, preservatives, fillers or frilly stuff (aka limes). Islander is brewed with a commitment to our communities because without them, we would not exist.
We would love to tell you Islander tastes better than the other lagers out there, but like many of the best things about this Island, we’ll let our attributes speak for themselves.
Vancouver Islander Lager is a classic, North American style lager, crafted with 100% barley malt. It’s a light bodied, delicately hopped and refreshing lager. Islander exhibits a very pleasant and mild flavour profile with the refreshing taste qualities of a premium, unpasteurized, lager. It is fermented and aged with our classic lager yeast strain and cold matured for balanced crispness.
